crayon shadow box monogram
This past Christmas, I racked my brain for something personal to give my daughter's teacher. (Something that didn't have apples or #1 Teacher on it - I assumed she had received plenty of that over the course of her teaching career.) The class collectively contributed to a larger gift, but I still wanted to give her a small token of our appreciation for her outstanding job! I came across this adorable idea on several blogs and thought it would be perfect. It was really easy to make. While back-tracking to give proper credit (still don't know where I actually saw it first??), I found this site that includes a fantastic tutorial.
All you need is a shadow box frame (I found mine at Ikea), poster board, an exacto knife, hot glue gun/glue sticks, a Sharpie, and a new box of crayons. (Sidebar... does anyone else get as excited as me when you open a brand new box of crayons??? One of life's little pleasures in my book!)
I love how whimsical, yet classic, this gift is. I hope Mrs. Ferguson can hang it in her room for years to come! And, Mrs. Ferguson, if you're reading, thanks again for all you do for our children!
That is such a clever, creative gift! I love it x
