picnic party cake

I recently received the great photos from Bree's picnic birthday party. (Stephanie Anestis Photography blew me away - such talent!!!) Since there are so many pictures, I thought I'd break this up into a couple post so I don't overwhelm everyone - or lose you to, ahem, boredom!

Here is the cake.  I didn't go too crazy because I only started it the night before. Yeap, it ended up being an all-nighter. The sunflower cupcakes were chocolate and the cake was vanilla. I airbrushed the watermelon layer and was happy with how it turned out. I have to say the little ants have got to be my favorite part though. They crack me up!

    Thanks Melanie. I used a strip of curved cardboard and then piped matching basketweave onto that. Hope this helps!
